Kaylie is an active senior member of the Green Swamp 4H Club at
the Imperial Polk Obedience Club in Lakeland, where she helps with instruction
for 4H.
Kaylie began training her first dog, a black tri Australian
Shepherd named Trooper, in 2006. Trooper and Kaylie developed a beautiful bond,
and enjoyed working together very much. They soon began entering Rally,
Obedience, and Agility shows, in which they did well.
In 2008, Trooper
and Kaylie placed first in their class in Obedience and Showmanship in the
State Fair, and earned 3rd place in the Champion Youth program.
Trooper
has earned his CGC certification, and is titled in AKC Rally (RA), Agility (NA,
NAJ), and Obedience (CD), with multiple placements. Trooper and Kaylie had a
Double Q Day and earned first placements at their very first AKC agility trial.
Trooper has started his career as a Therapy Dog as well, having visited
an assisted living facility with Kaylie. Trooper and Kaylie find the Therapy
visits very rewarding. |

Last year, Kaylie adopted Cayenne, Troopers little brother,
and began training him in agility. Kaylie and Cayenne have earned one AKC
agility title (NF), and 6 CPE (Canine Performance Events) agility titles with
multiple placements. Kaylie and Cayenne competed on IPOCs DACOF team at the
2009 DACOF State Agility Competition this year over the 4th of July weekend.
They greatly enjoyed the camaraderie of the team competition.
Recently
Kaylie adopted Red, a red tri Australian Shepherd, and is currently training
him for obedience and rally. They have completed their first basic obedience
class, after which they earned Reds CGC certification. Kaylie is excited to
continue Reds training and begin showing him in obedience and rally.
Kaylie and Trooper participated in their first DOCOF competition
over the 2009 Labor Day weekend. They competed with IPOCs DOCOF Team 2 at the
2009 DOCOF State Obedience Competition this year in Orlando. Kaylie was honored
to be a member of the team that placed 4th out of 50 teams.
Kaylie is a
junior member of IPOC, and volunteers at several of their trials. She is also
an assistant instructor at IPOC in their basic obedience and agility classes, a
job she enjoys very much!
